About My Book

Why I Wrote Wedding Challenges

During my thirteen years as a wedding photographer, I witnessed hundreds of carefully planned weddings. Yet some of the most beautiful and brilliantly planned weddings faced unforeseen challenges. And why should anyone expect anything different? When couples walk down the aisle, they are surrounded by family, guests, and vendors with different personalities and expectations.

So, I didn’t write Wedding Challenges to offer advice or to be a how-to manual, and any attempt by me to do so would surely fail. I feel that weddings are far too unique and personal. Weddings can’t be put together like self-assembled furniture, and what works for one couple might not work for another.

Instead, Wedding Challenges invites you to go behind the scenes with Diamond and Slate in a collection of fictional wedding stories. Their imaginary stories are meant to provide inspiration and insights as you plan a beautiful wedding that feels like your own.
